Pender Community Hospital has an excellent opportunity available for a full-time
This position is responsible for strategy development, administration, monitoring, and management to ensure laboratory services effectively and efficiently fulfill the goals of the organization. Supervise a variety of microscopic, chemical and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease while providing the highest quality patient care and customer service. This individual also will be responsible for managing Laboratory operations of Pender Community Hospital and Clinics in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Pender Community Hospital District.
Schedule: Minimum 40 hours per week. This is an exempt position.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop laboratory strategic plan in relation to building and maintaining programs
Responsible for leadership and oversight in the development, implementation and support of laboratory projects and solutions
Organize and manage quality assurance & maintain policies and procedures in accordance with current regulatory, professional standards, and evidence based practice
Manages day-to-day operations of laboratory department effectively and efficiently
Ensures service levels are achieved and maintained
Perform employee relations functions effectively to promote a positive work environment, influence retention and enhance communication
Education and/or Experience
Graduate of Bachelor of Science from approved Medical Technology Program
Registered Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, or equivalent certification of recognized national or state agency
Minimum of 5 - 7 years progressive experience in defining and implementing laboratory systems and process; strategy development and thought leadership experience required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, professional business manner and ability to interact with people of differing professional levels. Candidate must skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing priorities
Minimum of 1-3 years supervisory experience
Minimum 2 years general laboratory experience
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
ASCP Certification or equivalent
