Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. Pender Community Hospital makes every effort to provide nutritious meals that are prepared according to your doctor's orders. Patients are served breakfast at 7:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m., and dinner at 5:30 p.m.
A Registered Dietitian is available to consult with patients who may have special dietary needs or nutritional concerns. The Registered Dietitian is also available for outpatient consults and can assist with areas such as Diabetes Education, Weight Management, Chronic Kidney Disease, IBS/Digestive problems, Allergies, and other specific nutritional needs. Appointments can be made through referrals from your Provider, or by calling the Registered Dietitian Sarah Hanson at 402-385-1858.
If a family member or friend wants to eat with a patient, the visitors may go to the cafeteria, buy a meal there and take it back to the patient's room. Guest trays may be ordered in advance & delivered to the patient room for a cost of $3.00.
Expectant fathers, may receive one free guest tray from our dietary department.
Patient Age 10 and Under
One free guest tray per patient per mealtime is allowed. Additional guest trays will be charged at the customary price. This guest tray should be requested at least two hours in advance of the meal, if possible.
